Want Prosperity?

Job 42:10 

10 When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before! 

If you know anything about Job you know that he had a terrible time. He not only lost all of his possessions but much of his family including his wife and children and his health. People say when someone is going through a hard time that they have the patience of Job. But there were times he was very angry, cursing the day he was born asking why. There were times he blew up at his nasty friends that kept wrongly accusing him. And there were times he was questioning the Lord’s wisdom with ignorance (verse 42:3. But it was when his friends offered a gift of repentance and he prayed for them that he had prosperity come again to him.

He didn’t hold a grudge. He forgave them and did the most loving thing we can do when someone has been unkind to us, pray God will have mercy.

Father help me to be in a mode of repentance and to pray for others that they would repent and remind me of Job and how his life improved when he prayed for people who, even in his hard times had been unkind to him, in Jesus name Amen.
